LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - After following a study for 24-years, researchers in Spain working in conjunction with Harvard Medical School, have found that drinking at least two cups of coffee a day for years can lower the risk for stroke among healthy women. That is great news but there's a catch.
Researchers also found that benefit decreased if you have a cigarette with your coffee. The non-smoking participants had a 43% reduction in the stroke risk compared to only a 3% risk reduction in smokers. Experts think antioxidants found in coffee are the key.
