LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock water rates are going up. The City's Water Commission is recommending increases that now go to City Council. The flat monthly fee would go up to 22 dollars and 40 cents.
A family using 10,000 gallons per month would not pay any extra for Block One. In one example, that's the first 7,000 gallons. But the Block Two prices would go up 16 percent. So for this family that's about a dollar and a half.
The monthly bill for this example would go up 43 percent. The impact on your bill would depend on how much water you use.
UPDATE: There is also a rate increase for waste water. The increase is 14.5%. The first reading of this increase will happen at the next City Council meeting.
