LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Eyewitnesses were startled Wednesday afternoon when a police chase ended outside their office in the 1700 block of 34th Street.
Officers attempted to pull over a white sedan after it matched the description of a suspicious vehicle that was called in to police. The driver refused to stop and sped off. He soon lost control and collided with another vehicle creating a four car pileup.
Four people, including two suspects, were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Their status is something officers will continue to follow. "Texas Penal Code addresses that and if anyone in the collision suffered serious bodily injuries that will enhance, make a higher level charge that they are subject to," said Captain Greg Stevens with the Lubbock Police Department.
The driver, Terry Massingill, and passenger, Samantha Massingill, both 29, were eventually booked into the Lubbock County Jail, and are charged with evading arrest.
Two people in the other cars were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
