LP&L base rates to go up, fuel surcharge to go down - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Technically, your LP&L electric bill is going up but you might not notice much of a change.  The city council has been asked to increase base rates by an average 5.54%.   

Lubbock Power & Light needs that money to pay higher wholesale electric rates.   However, city documents indicate the fuel charge portion of the bill is going down.  So, really, the impact will bring little or no change to the bottom line of what you are paying monthly.
