Stimulus money to be used in South Plains road projects

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Some South Plains road projects are one step closer to starting. The Texas Transportation Commission made its recommendations Thursday for the projects that should receive federal stimulus money.

The Commission approved federal funds for 266 roadway and bridge maintenance projects including some here in Lubbock. The West Loop from 34th Street to 19th, and the 19th Street interchange. The North Loop from Frankford to Quaker and the Quaker interchange. And I-27 from 82nd Street all the way north. The Lubbock TxDot District hopes to receive more than 15 million dollars.
