The Lions Club is teaming up with the postal service to round up old prescription glasses this Halloween, so that they can be recycled and reused by those who need but can not afford glasses in other countries.
Don't worry if your old glasses are broken. Just put them in your mailbox. "We'll take anything you got. We can use the frames. We can use the glasses. They'll take them , fix them repair them and use them and send them on to people that really need them," says Dave Frericks of the Lions club.
So, don't forget, Halloween is sight night. But you can start on Wednesday, if you like. Leave your old glasses in your mailbox anywhere across the South Plains and they'll be mailed to an underdeveloped country to provide the gift of sight for someone else. Even sunglasses or drug store magnifying glasses. The frame or the lens can be used from any old glasses you have.
