Hispanic Organizations Voice Support for New Jail

Perhaps the biggest local decision on this year's ballot is the issue of whether or not to build a new jail in Lubbock County, and several Hispanic organizations voiced their support for the new jail on Tuesday.

The Lubbock Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the League of United Latin American Citizens held a news conference at Lala's restaurant. Chairman of the Hispanic Chamber, David Martinez, says a new jail would save taxpayers money.
