LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - As jobs get tougher to find more folks use unemployment.   And the Texas Workforce Commission is cracking down on those who abuse the system.

Three Lubbock men have been found guilty of cheating on their unemployment benefits.  The Texas Workforce Commission says 53-year-old Oscar Ramirez was ordered to pay back $3,832.   A few days ago in a Lubbock court, Ramirez was ordered to also perform community service.   Late last year 50-year-old Michael Hood was found guilty and ordered to pay back $5,204.  He also has to perform community service.

One happened back in 2007 but TWC just announced it Thursday.  38-year-old David Rocha was ordered to pay back $4,586 and do community service.

The Texas Workforce Commission says statewide it recovered more than $1.4 million in restitution in Calendar Year 2008 as a result of criminal prosecutions for Unemployment Insurance fraud.
