A Lubbock jury convicted a former Odessa teacher on Wednesday of having sex with one of his students. Back in January 2000, 41-year-old Daniel Igo took a 15 year-old girl from Odessa to a hotel here in Lubbock and had sex with her.

Igo now faces up to 20 years in prison. The punishment phase begins Thursday morning. Igo's defense attorneys are asking that he receive probation.
