Power outages cause problems for South Plains residents

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Residents across the South Plains dealt with early morning power outages.

Some East Lubbock residents went without power Monday morning. Lubbock Power and Light says a vehicle struck a utility pole at 29th and Ivory, just after midnight. The truck knocked out power to the Ponderosa Apartments. Power was restored within an hour.

Around 900 Abernathy residents lost power this morning. A contractor accidentally cut a line around 10:30 a.m. Monday, while digging post holes. Xcel energy restored power within about thirty minutes.
