Lubbock FAA Investigates Fatal Plane Crash

A Lubbock FAA investigator was called out to the scene of a fatal plane crash on the New Mexico border this Wednesday. It happened near Hobbs, shortly after takeoff from Lea County regional airport.

The pilot, 46-year-old Robert Calhoon of Hobbs died when his small plane crashed on a flight to El Paso. The twin-engine piper crashed into a field. However, the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
