Texas Tech sends warning about traveling to Mexico

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Tuesday Texas Tech officials sent an e-mail to students warning about traveling to Mexico.

With spring break just two weeks away, the Dean of Students released a warning Tuesday to any students planning trips to Mexico.

Last week, the US State Department issued a travel alert for Mexico due to increased violence, and is in effect until April. A travel alert is issued when the US government considers a country unsafe for its citizens.

Every year, more than 100,000 college students spend their spring break in Mexico.
