LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - On Thursday, the Lubbock City Council will vote on a huge water bill increase. It will be the second and final reading.
For some residents it will mean a 40 percent increase or higher. The council will also raise sewer rates. But the good news is city officials hope to offset these costs by lowering your Lubbock Power & Light bill. The fuel surcharge portion of the power bill is going down.
City officials hope that the net effect of these bills all put together will be no more than a $4 per month increase on the average Lubbock family.
