Lubbock City Council approves first reading of change in nuisance weed ordinance

Posted:

LUBBOCK TX (KCBD) - Whether it is a concern about fire danger or just an eyesore, the City of Lubbock may crack down on your property if you forget to mow.

On Thursday, council members approved the first reading of a change to the nuisance weed ordinance, from twelve inches to eight inches. If you fail to mow, the city will do it and send you the bill. If you fail to pay, you could be charged with a misdemeanor.

Council members will vote again, after a second reading.
