Mrs. Phenix Honored

She has spent the last 40 years dedicating her life to young children right here in Lubbock, and Sunday Mrs. Ruby Phenix was honored for her work at Carver Early Learning Centers.

Ruby began working as a housekeeper at the Early Learning Center in 1962 so she could be close to her children during the day. But 20 years ago she became the lead teacher for the Toddler One classroom, and to this day she still has adults come hug her and remember her from the days they were in her care. Ruby says making sure the kids know they are safe and loved is the most important job in the world.
