Perry Leads the Polls on Eve of Election

Governor Rick Perry began his final day of campaigning with a Republican rally in Cedar Park, just north of Austin. He was joined by Senate nominee John Cornyn and Lieutenant Governor hopeful David Dewhurst. President George W. Bush is also making an appearance at the rally Monday night.

According to the latest polls published by the Dallas Morning News, Perry maintains a healthy lead over Sanchez., 50% to 38%.

But, Tony Sanchez is not giving up.  Today he campaigned in his hometown of Laredo.  The businessman and gubernatorial hopeful was accompanied by former Governor Ann Richards.  Several hundred supporters welcomed Sanchez and Richards to the rally at a hotel.  Bad weather moved the event indoors.
