Volunteers Ready with Recall Petition to Remove Councilman

Depending on which precinct you vote in, you might be asked Tuesday to sign a petition that would start the process that could remove a Lubbock city councilman from office. Edward Estrada wants to remove District 4 Councilman Frank Morrison from office.

Estrada must get 1,700 signatures of people who voted in the 2000 election just to call for a new vote. Right now he has 96. He filed for the petition last week.

Morrison moved out of District 4 earlier this year. Estrada says Morrison shouldn't represent the district if he doesn't live there. Volunteers helping Estrada will be set up Tuesday at Honey Elementary, May Murphy Elementary, and Godeke Library.
