Xcel honored for outstanding efforts - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Xcel Energy is honored for helping to restore electricity to thousands of Texans.

The Edison Electric Institute honored Xcel Thursday with the Emergency Assistance Award. The award is given annually to U.S. and foreign companies to recognize outstanding efforts in restoring electrical service that has been disrupted by severe weather or other natural events.

Xcel assisted four utility companies after Hurricane Ike by sending more than 300 employees to the Texas coast.
