LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Until Oct. 18 local oral surgery office Hill & Ioppolo Oral and Facial Surgeons will have an application open for an area veteran or active-duty soldier who want to receive a brand new smile, estimated at a $50,000 value.

The program, called Smiles for Soldiers, chooses one veteran or active-duty military member to receive a full-arch restoration to replace a full mouth of teeth for free. This is the second year Hill & Ioppolo have hosted this contest and this year the office will also have the help of Dr. Tim Lesie, Clark Lab and Nobel Implant Company.

In November the office chose Charles Martin, an Air Force veteran, to receive the teeth replacement. The idea behind the program is to help veterans who have no health insurance.
