LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - 41 year-old Cresencio Reyes Garza, of Andrews, was indicted for burglary of a habitation and attempted robbery by a Grand Jury on Tuesday, January 8, following a break-in at Homestead Apartments in the 5400 block of 56th Street in September of 2018.

According to the Police incident report, around midnight on September 21, the unnamed resident awoke to see Garza standing by her bed, where he threatened to sexually assault her.

After she rejected him, he demanded money from her. When she stated she didn’t have any, Garza then exited the home.

The victim confirmed that Garza was no longer in the apartment, and nothing was stolen or damaged, then called Police.

LPD Officers observed scratch marks and tools on and near the backdoor that Garza used to enter the home, as well as a broken window.

Garza, who is listed as homeless, was later identified and arrested. He remains in jail on a combined $35,000 bond.
