LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Zuri Sanders had a double-double with 21 points and 16 rebounds to help the Lady Raiders win their first Big 12 Conference game as they topped Kansas 69-66 Wednesday night at the United Supermarkets Arena.
Texas Tech jumped out to a 9-point lead in the first quarter, but Kansas took the second stanza 15-6 to tie things up at 25 at the half.
Sanders was 7-9 from the field and 7-9 from the free throw line for 21 points and she battled for the boards getting 9 offensive rebounds and 7 defense for 16 in the game.
Big 12 Freshman of the Week Chrislyn Carr added 19 for the Lady Raiders. Brittany Brewer chipped in eight points with four rebounds and three blocks.
Texas Tech moves to 10-4 overall and 1-2 in the Big 12.
The Lady Raiders visit Oklahoma State 3 p.m. Saturday.
