LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The system which brought light showers across the area yesterday/last night has left strong wind speeds in it's wake and is pouring colder air into the region this morning. Gusty northwesterly wind speeds will begin to reduce this afternoon and remain sustained between 10-15mph while becoming northeasterly by evening.
Temperatures will struggle to reach 50 degrees in Lubbock under a mix of clouds and sun during the day. Wind chill will feel quite chilly today which will warrant a jacket while outdoors, especially where sunshine is limited.
Tonight northeasterly wind speeds will be calm between 5-10 mph with mostly clear sky which will help temperatures to drop into the 20's by morning. Sunday morning temperatures will require jacket and gloves and mostly cloud sky will make it feel very cool during the day while wind chill feels like temperatures are in the 30's our forecasted high temperatures for tomorrow afternoon range from the upper 30's to low 40's across the viewing area.
Rain chances are slim tomorrow as wind direction shifts to become more easterly by evening.
Another cold start to the week with morning temperatures in the mid 20′s again on Monday. Monday remains cool with high temperatures in the upper 40′s and low 50′s. Clouds begin to decrease Monday afternoon leading to a dry warming trend through the middle of the week ahead of a cold front which will keep Friday cool with a chance for rain and start the weekend much cooler than mid-week conditions.
