AUSTIN, TX (KCBD) - John Frullo, the representative for much of the City of Lubbock, including all of the Texas Tech University campus is now a member of the Texas House Higher Education Committee.
Frullo was appointed Wednesday by recently elected Speaker of the Texas House Dennis Bonnen.
“Lubbock is home to a flourishing workforce and a thriving university system, making Rep. Frullo uniquely qualified to serve as a member of the House Higher Education Committee,” Bonnen said in a statement. “I look forward to working alongside Rep. Frullo to make Texas an even better place to live, work and raise a family.”
In addition to Higher Education, Frullo was also appointed Vice Chair of the House Committee for International Relations and Economic Development, as well as a member of the House Calendars Committee.
“It is an honor to be appointed to these key committees,” Rep. Frullo said in the statement announcing his assignments. “I want to thank Speaker Bonnen for trusting me with these assignments that are important to our community."
Frullo is serving his fifth term as Representative for District 84. He was first elected to the post in November 2010.
