South Plains Lanes ready for PBA Lubbock Sports Open finale

PBA Lubbock Sports Open finale Sunday

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - For the past week, the world’s top bowlers have been here in the Hub City competing in the PBA Lubbock Sports Open.

“I think they really like the way we treat them,” Jimbo Evans said. “We try to treat them good, so that they will want to come back. I think they like Lubbock.”

Saturday afternoon, South Plains Lanes had some competition in the morning, and a Pro-Am in the evening.

But there was one constant, the FOX Sports team setting up their stuff for the national broadcast that will happen Sunday at 2 p.m.

“We are excited for tomorrow,” Evans said. “We are probably going to have 250 people in here. So, it is going to be exciting and it is going to be loud, and if the players get it going – it’s going to get even louder, and our crowd will keep them pumped up.”

The top five players will advance on to the nationally televised championship round, live on FS1.

Here are the top five players by their current position:

  • Sean Rash
  • Dick Allen
  • Michael Tang
  • Kyle Troup
  • Rhino Page
