LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -A cold front is moving across the area tonight. The front is bringing strong wind gusts and blowing dust across most of the South Plains viewing area.
Strong wind gusts continue through midnight before tapering off towards daybreak Tuesday.
Skies clear out across the area overnight tonight. Temperatures tumble into the lower and middle 20’s by daybreak. Winds settle down by sunrise Tuesday.
Tuesday becomes mostly sunny and cool. Wind speeds will be lower throughout the day. Highs warm into the middle and upper 50’s across the area. Winds become southwest during the afternoon.
Fair skies continue Tuesday night with lows in the middle to upper 20’s.
Windy conditions return Wednesday and Thursday. Spring weather conditions are likely both days with a few locations approaching 80 degrees Thursday.
Computer models are showing a sharp drop in temperatures late this weekend and early next week.
Colder weather is expected to return along with a slight chance of wintry precipitation next week.
