LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a High Wind Warning which will take effect beginning at 6am and continue through 6pm on Saturday which will bring wind gusts up to 65mph across the viewing area.
According to the National Weather Service, “A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.”
Outdoor activities on Saturday will be impacted by this High Wind event and blowing dust will cause the potential for lower visibility while driving. Extreme caution should be observed for any activities that involve being on elevated structures such as rooftops, or ladders. Damage to items such as trampolines, vehicles, trees and road signs will be possible during peak wind gusts. Outdoor items should be secured in advance to avoid being blown away by strong gusty wind.
