LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Over this past weekend, the Big 12 Indoor Championships were held in the Hub City for the first time ever.
The bright lights brought in some world-leading times, personal bests, broken records and a dominating performance by the home town team.
After setting a new Indoor Big 12 record for the most points scored in the Big 12 Championship with 174 points, the No. 1 Red Raiders sealed their second straight Big 12 Indoor Championship.
There were many Red Raiders that won individual Big 12 Championships, but the one that had every one talking was Divine Oduduru’s 200-meter.
His time was good for the fastest indoor time in the world and the second-fastest in the history of collegiate track.
For the some of the team, their indoor season is over, and they will now prepare for the outdoor season.
For the others that qualified for the national meet, they will take part in the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama, in early March.
