Wayland Baptist to perform ‘Bleeding Kansas’ Thursday to Saturday
Wayland Baptist University Theatre will perform "Bleeding Kansas" in Plainview from Feb. 28 to March 2.

PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) - Wayland Baptist Universty Theatre will perform “Bleeding Kansas” by Kathryn Walat at 7:30 p.m. from Thursday, Feb. 28 to Saturday March 2 inside the Harral Studio Theatre on the university’s campus.

Tickets can be purchased for $8 on the Wayland Baptist website.

Actors in the show include Ella Ashley as Hannah Rose Allen, Alexander Glass as Edwin Redpath, Tammy Brooks as Kittson Clarke, Ian Kirbk as George Clarke, Evan Puckett as Josiah Nichols and Nathan Brockets as several additional characters.

“Bleeding Kansas” is centered around conflict of mid-1800s Kansas families and the decision to allow slavery within the Kansas Territory before the Civil War.

The play will also be performed during the Christian University Theatre Festival from March 4-6 at Howard Payne University in Brownwood.

This play will also be under the direction of Marti Runnels, director of theatre, who is set to retire from the university after 30 years on the job.
