LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The No. 11 Red Raiders edged Oklahoma State 84-80 in overtime Wednesday night at the United Supermarkets Arena, moving them into a first place tie with Kansas State in the Big 12 Conference.
Texas Tech moves to 23-5 overall and 11-4 in Conference.
The Red Raiders saw a 14-point lead disappear and the Cowboys went up 1 with 3:21 left in the game.
Texas Tech retook the lead moments later and stretched the lead to 4 on a Davide Moretti three-pointer with 2:25 left.
Lindy Waters III made a three-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game at 71 and force overtime. Waters made 7 of 10 three-pointers in the game.
Oklahoma State hit 17 of 32 three-pointers overall while the Red Raiders were just 3-19 shooting 3s.
Moretti led the way with 20, including 9 points in the last 3:18 of regulation. Moretti hit huge free throws late in regulation and in overtime as he was 12-12 from the line. Jarrett Culver had 19 and Tariq Owens scored 16.
The Red Raiders visit TCU 3 p.m. Saturday in Fort Worth.
