LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - 41-year-old Hector Contreras was indicted by a Lubbock Grand Jury on Tuesday, charged with assault on a public servant.
The indictment says Contreras assaulted an officer who tried to arrest him back on Feb. 21.
The police report says Contreras was riding a bicycle in the 2400 block of Auburn while wearing a mask and carrying an air compressor.
When the officer got close, he noticed a bag in Contreras’ pocket containing a leafy green substance.
When the officer tried to put him in handcuffs, the report says Contreras ran and struggled with the officer, clawing at his eyes and face, striking him with fists.
Contreras remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center, charged with assault, robbery, drug possession, and evading arrest.
