Get your boots shined and ready for An Evening with Josh Abbott Band on Saturday, April 6th at the United Supermarkets Arena.

First United Bank and the Lubbock-Cooper Education Foundation presents its annual fundraiser event, this year featuring Josh Abbott Band in concert. The concert will take place immediately following their sponsor dinner on the main court.

Concert tickets are priced $31.00 and $36.00 (prices listed are inclusive of service charges).

Concert tickets do not include admission to the pre-show sponsor dinner. Dinner table purchase is sold separately through the Lubbock Cooper Education Foundation at or by phone at 806-789-4009.

Thanks to its inherently upbeat and singable material, Josh Abbott Band has become one of the leading acts in Texas music, winning four trophies in the inaugural Texas Regional Radio Awards. But JAB has national cred to boot – it’s landed three singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart – including “Oh, Tonight,” the first charted track to feature Grammy-winning Kacey Musgraves – and nabbed a Top 10 album with the 2012 release, Small Town Family Dreams, and reached No. 12 with the 2014 EP, Tuesday Night. The six-piece ensemble released its most ambitious project to-date with the 2015 album Front Row Seat, a song cycle that follows a relationship from first meeting through its euphoric rise to a difficult breakup and contemplative aftermath.

The Lubbock Cooper Foundation provided some extra details on Wednesday:

“The Lubbock-Cooper Education Foundation is pleased to host the Josh Abbott Band featuring special guest Mike Ryan this Saturday, April 6 at the United Supermarkets Arena. This annual benefit concert is the Foundation’s premier fundraising event, providing hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships and grants to the students and teachers of Lubbock-Cooper ISD. This event is generously sponsored by dozens of businesses and community leaders throughout Lubbock and West Texas.

Planning for this large fundraising event begins approximately one year in advance with the procurement of a date that best works for all parties involved at the time. Due to recent, very exciting circumstances outside of the control of event planners, the concert and the NCAA Men’s National Semifinal Game 2 featuring Texas Tech and Michigan State are set to take place simultaneously. The concert will proceed as scheduled, with doors opening to the general public at 7:00 p.m.

The community is invited to join the Lubbock-Cooper Education Foundation in a celebration of great music for a great cause. Tickets are available at
