LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - After a spectacular Saturday that gave them the lead heading into the final day, the Red Raider golf team was able to hold onto that lead to win the El Macero Classic.
Junior Sandy Scott led the charge for the Red Raiders, as he won his first individual tournament championship of his career.
Scott finished at 3 under par, edging out his teammate Ivan Ramirez who claimed tournament runner-up at 2 under par.
Overall for the tournament, Texas Tech finished at an even-par, while Oregon State finished as the runner-up at six over par.
Texas Tech will now head to the Big 12 Conference Championships on April 26 through April 28 at White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
The Red Raiders enter the postseason play with two regular-season titles and two runner-up showings.
