HALE COUNTY, TX (KCBD) - A construction worker at the Hale Wind Farm was injured on the job, according to sources with the Hale County Sheriff’s Office and Xcel Energy.

Officials say AeroCare and EMS are currently on the scene.

It happened near County Road 235 and FM 400, northeast of Abernathy, around 4:30 p.m.

There are more than 200 wind turbines at the Hale Wind Farm, which spans 60,000 acres. Construction on the wind farm started in August 2018.

Wanzek Construction, the company the worker - identified as a woman - works for said she is stable at a Lubbock hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

A spokesperson for Wanzek said safety is their number one priority and focus every day. The company said their first concern is for their worker and they will have a full investigation into what happened.
