BOSTON, MA (KCBD) - Mike Vasquez is no stranger to marathons.
The Lubbock native, wounded in Afghanistan in 2009, has competed in races in Detroit, New York, and Washington.
He now has another race in his collection - the Boston Marathon.
Vasquez competed Monday in the handcycle race, completing a time of one hour 21 minutes for an eight place finish.
The Mayor’s Fitness Council of Lubbock sent their congratulations to Vasquez on Thursday with a plug for Lubbock’s own upcoming race.
Now Vasquez has his sights set on the Mayor’s Marathon in Lubbock on April 28. Click here to learn more about the race, or sign up.
