LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -Severe thunderstorms are possible across the South Plains late Monday afternoon through the overnight hours Monday night.
A cold front will track across the area. This feature may combine with a low pressure system to our west. This may trigger scattered strong to severe thunderstorms late Monday afternoon.
Some of the storms could produce large hail, wind gusts over 60 mph, heavy rainfall and a very low risk of a tornado.
No precipitation is in the forecast tonight.
Fair to partly cloudy skies are in the forecast with lows in the middle to upper 50’s.
Thunderstorm chances increase late Monday afternoon with highs in the middle to upper 70’s.
Severe weather diminishes late Monday night, but rain remains in the forecast through Tuesday.
Tuesday will be cloudy and colder with highs in the 50’s and 60’s at best.
