Reagor-Dykes creates new portal for customers with TT&L issues
UPDATE: Friday afternoon KCBD learned that in the first week of the portal being online, the Lubbock Tax Assessor-Collector’s office has processed 31 titles for former Reagor-Dykes customers.
Many have been without their registrations since the former auto group filed bankruptcy on August 1 of last year.
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Reagor-Dykes Auto Group has created a new email portal for customers to get their vehicles properly registered.
The email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. This is the only way to resolve registration issues and the tax assessor’s office will only deal with customers through this portal.
Registration is also only offered for Texas residents.
The portal was established after a bankruptcy court ruling earlier this week that eliminated the sales tax for RDAG customers who needed their vehicles registered.
However, the customer or the customer’s lender will have to pay the title and registration fees, which should be around $100 to $250, depending on the vehicle, according to the tax assessor’s office.
Customer emails should include their name, vehicle identification number, vehicle year, make and model, lien holder and where the vehicle was purchased from.
The tax assessor’s office expects RDAG to bring the proper paperwork to it for processing. This means the auto group will research and identify the customers who need this help and find the proper documents.
RDAG will also contact the customers with information about the next steps in the registration process.
