LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - There is a new leader in the ‘Dog House’ at Plainview High School, but they didn’t have to go far to find him.
It was announced on social media Monday that longtime Plainview assistant coach Drew Thompson was promoted to lead the Boys’ basketball program.
Thompson takes over a program lead by Leon Hagerman since 2004.
Hagerman lead the Bulldogs to the playoffs in all but four of his 15 years.
Thompson was praised in a press release from Plainview ISD announcing his promotion to lead the Bulldog Basketball program.
"After the local interview process concluded, we are fortunate to have had one of the top candidates under our roof. We are proud that the search affirmed Coach Thompson for the role. We look forward to next year and the years to come under his guidance and leadership."
Last season, the Bulldogs finished 4-36 overall and 1-15 in district play.
