LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock Police confirmed one person was killed in a crash along 50th and Milwaukee Monday afternoon.
Two vehicles, a Gray Ford Focus and a Ford F-250 were involved in the crash just before 3:30 p.m. in front of Altitude Trampoline Park.
According to police the Focus was traveling south along Milwaukee and was turning left onto 50th when the F-250 coming north drifted into the center lane and collided head-on.
Officials initially said one person inside the car was critically injured. They confirmed a short time later the driver, a 24-year-old woman identified as Amber Canaday, was killed.
Monday evening LPD confirmed a passenger in the car was taken to UMC with moderate injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.
All lanes of Milwaukee Ave. were blocked and motorists were asked to avoid the area for much of the afternoon. An LBKAlert sent out by the city said emergency vehicles would remain on scene.
Detectives from LPD’s Major Crash Unit are investigating the crash.
