PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) - A water main break along Quincy Street in Plainview has traffic being diverted off the major street Tuesday evening.
The break happened just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday along the southbound lanes of Quincy between 7th and 8th Streets near the entrance to Wayland Baptist University.
A citywide alert sent to residents asked drivers to avoid the area while repairs were being made, and said the city would notify residents when Quincy reopened to traffic.
Wayland Baptist University told students, faculty and staff that because of the break water had been shut off to much of the eastern part of campus, including the administration building Gates Hall. But after 10 a.m. Wednesday water was back on in the area, though traffic was still being diverted.
None of the college’s residence halls were impacted.
The city says even though there has been a line break, there is not a boil notice in place.
