Clovis police searching for armed robbery suspect

On Friday, May 10, 2019, at about 10:43 a.m., Officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to 1500 North Prince Street, Payment 1 Financial, for a report of an armed robbery.

On contact with the victims, Officers were given a description of the suspect, were told the suspect had stolen money and property, and had fled the area. Neither of the victims sustained any injuries during the robbery. Detectives of the Clovis Police Department Special Operations Unit were dispatched to investigate the crime.

The suspect walked into the business, demanded money and threatened to "shoot" the workers. During the robbery, the suspect was brandishing what appeared to be a black in color semiautomatic handgun. The suspect is described as a light complected male who was wearing a dark blue jacket, light blue button up shirt, gray dress slacks, black dress shoes, wearing a glove on his left hand, and a light gray in color "newsboy" style flat cap hat. The suspect is further described as being approximately 5'08" tall, weighing about 200 pounds.

Officers and Detectives searched the area for the suspect, but were not successful in locating him. The investigation into this crime is ongoing.
