Detectives with the Lubbock Police Department Persons Crimes Unit are asking for the public’s help in identifying a sexual assault suspect.

On May 1st at approximately 1:30 a.m., a 17-year-old female was walking in the area of 50th Street and Avenue Q when she accepted a ride from a male driving a newer model, black, four-door Lincoln passenger car.

The female advised that while in the car, the male began touching her inappropriately and then sexually assaulted her. The female was able to fight off the suspect, get out of the vehicle, and run home for help.

Based on the information provided by the victim, a forensic sketch artist from Texas Tech University assisted with the investigation and produced a composite sketch of the suspect. The composite is an approximate likeness of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a light complexion, possibly in his 20s to early 30s. He was wearing a gray shirt and dark jeans at the time of the assault.
