Late inning homers lift Texas Tech past Kansas

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (KCBD) - Trailing for the first five innings, the Red Raiders hit 3 total home runs in the next two innings to top Kansas 7-5 Friday evening in Oklahoma City.

Texas Tech trailed 4-2 when Big 12 Co-Player of the year Josh Jung hit a solo shot to pull the Red Raiders within one. Later in the inning, Kurt Wilson hit a two run homer to give Texas Tech the 5-4 lead.

Kansas would hit a homer in the 7th to tie the game at 5. In the bottom of the 7th, Gabe Holt hit his third home run of the season, a two-run longball to give Tech a 7-5 lead.

The Red Raiders live to play another day. They now need to beat West Virginia twice tomorrow, beginning with a 9am Saturday game. The Mountaineers have beat the Red Raiders in three of four games this season.
