Lubbock police confront suicidal person at McDonald’s at 34th & Quaker

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - One person is in custody after a late night standoff at a Lubbock McDonald’s.

Police responded to a call about a suicidal person, at the McDonald’s restaurant, at 34th Street and Quaker Avenue, around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities urged the public to avoid the area as officers surrounded the restaurant.

About three hours later, police took the suspect into custody without incident.

EMS took the suspect to University Medical Center.

No one was taken hostage during the incident.
