LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Lubbock Police are investigating a fatal Monday-evening motorcycle crash along the service road of north I-27 near the South Loop 289 flyover. Police have now identified 56-year-old Benjamin Perry as the victim in the crash.
The accident happened just before 8:30 p.m. Monday.
An initial investigation shows Perry was traveling north on the I-27 access road, lost control and went off the road, according to a Lubbock Police Department news release. Perry was thrown off the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the moment, investigators believe speed was a factor in this crash. However, the circumstances surrounding this crash are still under investigation.
