2 charged with murder after Saturday night home invasion

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Lubbock police have arrested two suspects in connection with a home invasion that led to the death of 49-year-old Robert Dendy Saturday night.

Police were called to the 4700 block of Auburn Street around 8:40 p.m. on July 6, after reports that two men were attempting to break into a home.

Officers were told that Dendy, who lived in a neighboring house, confronted the suspects in an alley and was shot by one of the suspects, according to the police press release.

The suspects then fled the area. Detectives investigated the shooting overnight, believing the suspects targeted the home they were breaking into.

By Sunday morning, police arrested 20-year-old Kyi Baker and a 14-year-old male, charged with Dendy’s murder.
