LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) -Once again, the afternoon high temperatures have been in the mid 80s to mid 90s on the South Plains. Also, isolated showers and a few thunderstorms have occurred in the south and southwestern communities, producing some moderate rain, lightning and gusty winds. Most the showers will diminish by 8-9pm leaving a few clouds and some cooler temps for a few folks.
Friday will again by very mild in the morning and then back in the low 90s in the afternoon. Some showers and maybe a few storms will develop late afternoon into the evening over the south and southwest South Plains.
As for the weekend it will be more of the same with lows around 70 degrees and highs between 90-95 degrees. Just enough heat and moisture to produce a slim chance for isolated storms, if any at all.
As for tropical system Barry, the only impact on our weather will be to decrease the already low rain chances through Sunday. All the rain with Barry will stay to our east.
