LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Many are waking up to a blanket of snow in their yards and on their vehicles. Officials with the Lubbock Police Department, Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, TxDOT and officials with the City of Lubbock have been working through the night to make sure the roadways are safe for those who want to venture out of their homes early Saturday morning.

The westbound lanes of Marsha Sharp Fwy. flyover to southbound West Loop 289 is still closed. The other roadways have been reopened.

According to Lubbock Wrecker, they have responded to 10 situations as of 7 a.m., but say that is a normal Friday night/Saturday morning for them. They say TxDOT did a good job of making sure the roadways were safe.

REMEMBER: Do not move or drive around barricades, they are placed for your safety and it is against the law!
