LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - In their first meeting since 2005, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders lost their first game of the season to Rice 81-62 Saturday evening at the United Supermarkets Arena.
Rice scored the first 9 points of the game and the Lady Raiders had to play from behind the entire game. The Lady Raiders got as close as 3 in the second quarter.
Lexi Gordon led the way with 21 points and Chrislyn Carr added 18.
The team’s leading scorer Vivian Gray had 1 point shooting 0-9 from the field.
This game with Rice was a replacement game as Texas Tech lost playing games with Vanderbilt and Missouri due to COVID issues at those schools.
The 2-1 Lady Raiders next scheduled game is the Big 12 opener at #4 Baylor on December 14th.
