Inside Out Foundation to host 9th Annual Women’s Health Seminar virtually Saturday
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Despite the pandemic, one organization has pressed forward helping women who have gone through traumatic experiences.
The Inside Out Foundation is a nonprofit founded nine years ago by three women. Alexis Arnold, co-founder and executive director, said they saw a need in the South Plains, and this foundation was the answer.
“We provide what’s called aesthetic products and services for clients who are going through or have been through traumatic events at no cost to them. That includes wigs, mastectomy support items, skin care for chemo, radiation, burn patients, anything like that that helps them look and feel their best,” Arnold said.
Like every nonprofit, the pandemic brought challenges. Arnold said the need only grew, but said they are fortunate to live in a community who continued to support the cause.
“It’s kind of ironic when something that big is happening in the world, it’s almost like trauma increases, it doesn’t slow down,” She said. “So, our answer was to continue services. We were here behind the scenes working hard to deliver products and services to our clients, but we had to do it in a completely different way.”
One big event that will be different is the foundation’s 9th Annual Women’s Health Seminar, set for Saturday, Jan. 16. it will be virtual, and will feature four keynote speakers focusing on Diabetes and Heart Disease Prevention.
“You can join us in your jammies if you want to. It’s not on Zoom. You don’t have to unmute, mute yourself, worry about if your camera’s on by accident, there’s none of that. You register online, you pay for your ticket. It’s only $10 for an e-ticket. Then, we email you a link 60 minutes before the event. All you have to do is click on the link, and you are automatically in the online seminar.”
The seminar begins at 9:34 a.m. and will end at 12:45 p.m. There will be an online shopping feature with local vendors all weekend, as well as a seminar raffle prize. To register, click here.
