LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Garza County Sheriff’s Office went from house to house Friday morning in Post to turn water meters back on.

The sheriff’s office is urging residents to check faucets and outside connections and to be patient as this will be a time consuming process. Water conservation is still encouraged and residents should report any leaks immediately. A boil water notice is still in effect for the time being.

As of Thursday morning, some parts of Post were with water but, due to the limited supply, residents were advised to refrain from using it.

Crews are dealing with many infrastructure leaks and are working to isolate and repair them.

The city will provide drinking and non-potable water at the fire station starting at 5 p.m. Containers will not be issued and residents are urged to bring their own.
